The samples that are produced in the MICE facilities are enriched in specific stable isotopes. To avoid cross-contamination with natural abundance stable isotope analyses, the preparation and analyses of enriched stable isotopes is performed in a dedicated laboratory that is equipped with all necessary facilities for sample preparation and analyses via cavitiy ring-down spectroscopy.
