Abstract:
Within the past decade, radical shifts in how societies function have taken place, with digital technologies, such as the internet, smartphones, and social media, contributing to these shifts. While these technological changes were dreamt up with good intentions, at present, they are also producing myriad negative unintended consequences. That said, there does remain great promise for their use, if appropriate tools, methods, and training in equitable implementation can be enacted. The purpose of this talk is to discuss the opportunities and challenges of equitably advancing healthy behavior via digital health.
