From Kabul to Lausanne: A testimony about life after migration

"From Kabul to Lausanne: A testimony about life after migration" presents the situation of a young Afghan woman who recently arrived in Switzerland as a refugee. This short film showcases the doctoral research of Virginie Fazel, which analyses the relationships between local and digital (religious) communities for young refugees and asylum seekers in Switzerland. As part of an interdisciplinary project alongside other films from the URPP Digital Religion(s), this short movie aims to raise public awareness about the situation of migrants through a unique testimony.

The film features a semi-structured interview, a qualitative methodology that constitutes the data for this doctoral research. Ensuring the participant's anonymity proved to be a challenge in the production, as it was necessary to maintain the sensitivity inherent to the topic and keep the primary focus on the interlocutor. From over thirty minutes of interview, a selection of footage was made to achieve a result that has both scientific and human impact.
