The event opened with a greeting from Prof. Gabriele Siegert (UZH). This German lecture examines the ethical dimensions of climate policy. Moderated by Patrick Bernau (F.A.S.), Prof. Michael Coors (UZH) and Prof. Achim Wambach, PhD (ZEW – Leibniz-Zentrums für Europäische Wirtschaftsforschung; Universität Mannheim) discussed fundamental questions: What balance is appropriate between ethics of conviction and ethics of responsibility? Is the comparison to indulgences for emissions offsetting meaningful? The event explored philosophical and theological perspectives on climate protection.
