We constantly make decisions under uncertainty. How should we make such risky decisions—a question posed by economics—and how do we actually make them—a question explored in psychology—in contexts such as health and disease, finance, and everyday life? Do risk attitudes differ between individuals with brain disorders and those without? And do medical doctors approach risk differently from their patients? This symposium brings together leading experts in decision-making under uncertainty to examine these questions and explore the origins of our aversion to uncertainty.
