Der universitäre Forschungsschwerpunkt (UFSP) "Digital Religion(s)" untersucht, wie die gegenwärtigen Digitalisierungsdynamiken die Religionspraxis von Individuen und Institutionen beeinflussen, prägen und transformieren. Themen und Inhalte der Forschung sind u.a. religiöse Identitätsbildung und die Entwicklung von gemeinschaftlichen online-offline Netzwerken, mediale Kommunikationspraktiken des Trauerns und der Seelsorge sowie Phänomene religionsbezogener digitaler Bildung.
